After falling down the magical Narra tree inside his bahay kubo (nipa hut), it’s up to Kata to rebuild and carry his house to the top of the tree — but he can’t do it alone!
Join Kata as he climbs up and ventures through different areas representing major themes in Filipino culture. Prepare to meet a wide cast of characters based on Filipino nature and mythology to help — or mislead — Kata on his journey. Kata is the brainchild of the entire Katakata Creative team’s creative process as they grew up surrounded by Philippine culture; being raised by its beauty, richness, and vastness. From simple leaf art crafts, to the intricacies of performing theater the team intended to put at the forefront a heartfelt story about a lost child as he ventures through different places and meeting different people taking the form of major Filipino art themes.
A Kickstarter campaign is planned to further fund the game, and constant progress updates on social media as well as public beta tests will be provided in the future for gameplay feedback.
Katakata Creative was formed in 2019 with the vision to empower local Filipino talents through games and multimedia. Comprised of Filipinos, we strive to put our rich and colorful culture front and center on the international and local stages. With a primary focus on game development, Katakata Creative aims to expand to other forms of media such as animation and comics.
